Impande’s team strategises and welcomes new board members

Impande used the opportunity at the start of the year to pause and reflect on the organisation’s growth and development. Key members of the team and oversight participated in a 2-day strategic planning meeting held in March. The event was a great success and has marked a significant highlight for the first quarter. Together we looked back at what has been achieved and shaped plans for the future.

The meeting was an opportunity to align the objectives of the organization with the ideas and insights that were discussed. Taking from where the organization is coming from, there were no resources in terms of staff, funding, or partnerships with relevant stakeholders. A lot has been achieved!

Mandisa Luzipho, Chairperson

Impande’s journey over the past few years has witnessed immense growth, with this growth, the organisation has seen some changes and additions to both our team of staff as well as Impande’s Board.  The strategic meeting provided a great opportunity for both local and international staff, volunteers, and board members to meet and get to know each other better. We were also delighted to welcome two new board members: Dr Xoliswa Majola and Mr Siphiwe Mqadi. It is a great pleasure to have you on board!

“I am thrilled to serve on the Impande Board, as it aligns perfectly with my passion for driving positive change and fostering sustainable development within communities. What excites me the most about this opportunity is the chance to contribute my skills and expertise towards advancing Impande’s mission. Together, we can create meaningful opportunities for growth, equity, and prosperity – ultimately shaping a brighter future for generations to come.”

Siphiwe Mqadi, Board Member

“One aspect of the workshop that will stick with me is the positivity of all the staff and their ‘can-do’, adaptable approach to making things happen, and the excitement of the senior leaders in getting behind the expansion plans in the Eastern Cape. I leave the workshop with extra motivation to drive the Impande UK fundraising to ensure we play our part in this exciting journey to ensure “Every Child has a Fair Start in Life’ in South Africa!”

Alan Little, Impande UK

Impande are confident with the direction that the organisation is headed and the opportunity to consolidate the organisation’s development. Together with our board and its new members, we’re excited to continue our mission of providing every child with a fair start in life. With the support of our dedicated team and partners, we’re ready to make a real difference in communities across South Africa.
