Launching of our first ECD NQF Level 4 training

At Impande we recognise the pivotal role well-trained Early Childhood Development (ECD) teachers play in the holistic development of children. That’s why we’re delighted to announce the launch of our first official ECD NQF Level 4 training programme.  Over the next 2 years Impande will train 70 teachers from Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Municipality in Eastern Cape who work at unfunded ECD centres and therefore cannot afford training.

This accredited training initiative is a significant milestone for Impande’s journey in ensuring quality ECD for children in marginalised communities and a big thanks is due to our partners Ntataise in assisting us with rolling out accredited training. The accredited training is an addition to our longstanding Learning Group programme, which has been empowering and guiding ECD teachers for over a decade and currently supports 58 Learning Groups with more than 1241 ECD teachers in attendance.

Last year, three Impande staff members underwent rigorous training to become Accredited Facilitators under the guidance of Ntataise. The 18-month Ntataise NQF level 4 programme equips teachers to facilitate comprehensive development in young children while respecting cultural and individual needs, including those with special needs, thereby ensuring quality ECD.

We’re excited to report that our NQF Level 4 training is off to a strong start, with 35 teachers.  Thank you to both First Rand Foundation and Ntataise in this initiative for your ongoing support as we continue to make strides in empowering ECD teachers and enhancing the quality of early childhood education.
